yet another cheesy inkscape effect

By ryanlerch

Im so very sorry about the lame pun, but i was playing with the 3d text tecnique that i documented in my last tutorial and i came up with this using inkscape: please tell me what you think!

Basically the same result, but its yellow and has holes in it.

Sorry again about the lame pun.

LOL! Ryan is made out of cheese!

I have also played a bit with this effect, unfortunately the result look a little blurry (no wonder, and the main “ingredient” is the blur filter).

you are better at bad puns than me! (im not sure if that makes sense…)

yeah, i was having troubles with the blurriness as well, i played around with clipping the blur hard around the text, and some other stuff, they kinds work, ping me here if you come up with a good tecnique!

being able to “map” a gradient to a path would help greatly in creating bevel-type effects, but AFAIK, there is no support in SVG for that, (am i right?)
